Laptop Replacement Parts

Were you aware that the most common laptop parts to break down are the speakers, sound card, video card, hard drive, battery, screen and strangely enough, the power jack?  You may not be familiar with what the parts are and what they do.  But they can all be replaced with laptop replacement parts to keep your laptop running.  There are sites like www.laptopaid.com that carry all types for most of the models in the laptop market, and they guarantee low, and in some cases, the lowest, prices on all of them.  This makes retaining your laptop and much more viable and affordable solution over buying brand new laptops.

Little Things That Go Wrong

Most of the parts that commonly go bad or wear down first are small in size.  If you want to be technical, it’s even the little things that go wrong on a big part; the laptop screen.  Aside from when the laptop screen comes into contact with objects, it is rare that the screen itself is in need of replacement.  More often it is the wires that connect the screen to the rest of the laptop that go bad.  The usual reason for this is that the wires are moved and bent each time the laptop is opened or closed.  The wires run down inside the hinges that keep the laptop attached.

The speakers, sound card and video card are usually not very big, but the smallest part would have to be the power jack.  If you aren’t familiar with this component, it’s the part that you plug your charger / AC adapter into, to supply power to the laptop from a wall outlet.  The reason that this part wears out so often is that it is subjected to more force, either pushing or pulling, that it is really designed for.  People exert more force than needed to plug the charger in, for one thing.  For another, the adapter often gets tripped or pulled on, and that puts extensive pressure on the power jack.  If this is done enough times, the jack is unable to perform its duty and let power flow into the laptop.

See No Evil, Hear No Evil

When a screen stops displaying anything or begins to show difficulty in displaying what it normally can with ease, it’s less common that the wires are worn out.  Certainly, that often what happens, but just as much than that, if not more, is the video card wearing out or overheating.  Once any part of a laptop overheats, it loses the ability to perform its job well, and eventually cannot do it at all.  The video card is actually the component that translates all the data that is meant to be displayed on the screen.  If it cannot do this task, the screen has nothing to display.  With few exceptions, video cards in laptops were not very durable nor designed for long life, let alone extensive use at the peak of its abilities.  Replacing the video card when it goes bad is not the most complex of tasks, but it does require at least a basic understanding of how laptops are put together.  After all, the person installing the replacement card will have to open the case and expose the circuitry, identify the video card, and remove it safely.  One pleasant opportunity for the consumer who has to replace a damaged or worn out video card is that they can see about getting a better one, even at the lowest prices.  This is a fine chance to begin upgrading your laptop.  Upgrading allows you to hold onto your laptop longer and still be able to improve the features you can enjoy.  This is also true of most major parts of the laptop.

The sound card is much like the video card.  It’s replacement requires the same kind of process, it is inexpensive to replace, and often can be upgraded.  Unlike the video card, however, the sound card’s output device, the speakers, tend to wear out faster than the card it depends on. The speakers are small and replacing them is very much like replacing speakers in any electronic device.  However, it, too, can be done for a fraction of the cost of a new laptop.
