This is the sad reality in our economic times. Doing business, for some SEO services has become a game of get rich quick. You know the types – They will promise you that you will make a gigantic amount of money and will send one of their professional SEO consultants to work with you.
Time passes and you don’t rise in the rankings. Instead your SEO services cause you to actually fall in the rankings, losing your company money. You try in vain to get ahold of your professional SEO writers and find that you can no longer reach them. My friend, you have been scammed! Let’s talk about what to avoid when dealing with any company that offers SEO services of any kind. First beware of any search engine optimization company that offers false guarantees such as a first position Google ranking. Refuse offers that say they can give you the first position for a small fee. Achieving ranking through unique and long search terms is another scam. Professional SEO consultants will never tell you this, as they know that shortcuts not only do not work, but that nothing is guaranteed with Google Ranking. If they are offering to submit a website for a small fee, leave immediately! If they are offering to submit your site to thousands for a small fee, you are about to be scammed.
Another type of scam that some professional SEO services will try and pass by you is sending out a massive email that suggests site owners provide a link. One sure warning sign is that the company in question that is offering the SEO services doesn’t have a legitimate site or has one that is poorly done. No professional SEO consultant worth their salt will encourage this. If you see such a site, then leave it alone and find another one for your business. Other tactics include utilizing expired domains. Not utilizing all the SEO tools is another warning. These are just some of the scams that have been pulled by greedy SEO services that are designed to separate you and your money.
Unfortunately this seems to happen every day. How do you keep from being scammed by SEO services that are not what they appear to be? You need to use common sense and ask a lot of questions. Ask for references and talk to people before signing a contract. Most professional SEO consultants will gladly give you the information that you seek. Any that doesn’t are immediately suspect and should be avoided like the Bubonic Plague!! Better Business Bureaus also have some information on companies of this sort. If there is no report or black marks, then steer clear and choose another SEO services that will be more forthcoming with this information.
