Website Ranking – Boost Your PageRank With Guest Blogging…

There’s many different ways to increase your website ranking, and guest blogging is a great way. Guest blogging is where you write blog posts for other bloggers and in return you get a back link to your website.

Why Guest Blogging?

There’s many different ways of increasing your website ranking or PageRank – a Google term for website popularity. However PageRank is determined on the quality of the back link (among other factors) and so getting a back link from a high PageRank blog is hugely beneficial to the PageRank of your website.

Who Do You Approach?

Who do you approach to write guest posts? Well one of the best places to start is searching for the most popular blogs in your niche. They’re going to be the high traffic and high page rank blogs. Try and look for blogs with a PageRank of at least four in Google. There’s many ways to find out the PageRank of a website. One method is by installing a plugin for the Firefox browser called Search Status. This will display the PageRank in the bottom of your browser.

How Do I Know They’ll Publish My Post?

You don’t. But you do need to add value first. Once you’ve found a suitable blog, the best way is to comment on some of the blog posts. Don’t say “Nice blog post” as most bloggers, me included, will treat that as spam and delete the comment.

Most legitimate ways to increase your website ranking involve providing quality content of some sort. You must provide some valuable content in your comment. Give your opinion on what the blogger was talking about in their blog post, give an alternative view, or expand on what the blogger was saying. Above all make it informative.

Don’t Give Up

You need to do this a few times on the same blog to be noticed. Once you’ve done several posts, then contact the blogger through their contact us page, asking them if they’ll publish your post.

You must include the post in the Contact Us form body.

This post can’t be something you’ve already written and published elsewhere. It needs to be your best work.

It also goes without saying that your post should relate to other posts on the blog as the blog owner also wants to increase their website ranking with relevant content.

What If My Post Is Rejected?

You might not always have your posts accepted, but what’s the worst that can happen? They say no? Even if they do you’ve still got a great post for your own blog!

If they reject it, try again with a better one! Unless of course they’ve said they don’t accept guest posts.

The reason guest blogging works is because most bloggers are in desperate need of fresh content. It also helps their ranking in search engines if they have links on their website pointing to other websites.

You need to do a bit of work, but if you’re serious about getting your website ranking increased, concentrate on getting quality back links. Guest blogging is a great way to start achieving this.
